The latest ICC T20I rankings saw a shakeup, with both Irish and Pakistani players making impressive strides following their thrilling series in Dublin.
Irish Batsmen Rise in ICC T20I Batting Rankings
Andrew Balbirnie of Ireland enjoyed a significant jump, climbing six places to land at 53rd in the ICC T20I batting rankings. His stellar performance against Pakistan, amassing 128 runs across three matches, was a key factor in his rise. Similarly, teammate Harry Tector rocketed up the rankings, surging 12 spots to claim 69th position. Tector contributed a vital 98 runs throughout the series.
Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman and Imad Wasim ICC T20 rankings
Pakistan’s aggressive left-handed batsman, Fakhar Zaman, also witnessed an upward trajectory. He ascended four places in the ICC T20I rankings, solidifying his position at 57th.
Furthermore, Imad Wasim’s economical bowling against Ireland propelled him up the charts. He made significant progress, jumping a remarkable 24 spots to share 52nd place in the bowling rankings. Additionally, Wasim climbed five spots in the all-rounder rankings, currently tied for 16th position.
Rizwan and Azam Maintain Top Positions, Shadab Khan Experiences Dip
Pakistan’s batting mainstays, Mohammad Rizwan (781) and Babar Azam (761), held onto their impressive positions in the ICC T20I batting rankings, remaining at third and fourth, respectively. India’s Suryakumar Yadav continued his reign at the top of the rankings, boasting a dominant 861 rating points.
However, there was a slight setback for Pakistan’s Shadab Khan. His bowling performance in the series wasn’t up to par. After conceding 54 runs without taking a wicket in his four overs during the first T20I, Khan dropped six places in the rankings, currently sitting at 33rd. This lackluster performance also led to his exclusion from the subsequent two matches against Ireland.
Haris Rauf, another Pakistani player, also witnessed a slight decline. Missing the Ireland series altogether resulted in a three-spot drop in the rankings, placing him at 27th.
